Jean-Claude Gaudin presented Taron Margaryan the recent achievements in Marseille development

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan who is Marseille as a distinguished guest to participate in the events dedicated to the national holiday of France met with Marseille Mayor Jean-Claude Gaudin. Meeting his Yerevan colleague Marseille Mayor first of all had a short tour with Taron Margaryan during which he presented the achievements in the development of the city governed by him. Having a brief reference to the history and the places of interest Jean-Claude Gaudin noted that some constructions of the city built in recent years made Marseille more convenient for the residents and the guests. Attaching particular importance to the role of the Armenian community in the issue of Marseille development Jean-Claude Gaudin assured that the special attitude of the city authorities to the Armenian community had always been justified. He also expressed confidence that Marseille was in fact a native city to the Armenians of France, taking into account that Marseille was the first place where the Armenians hardly escaped from the Genocide in Western Armenia found a shelter.

Expressing gratitude for the trust and permanent attention shown to the Armenian community Mayor Taron Margaryan in his turn expressed confidence that due to the efforts of the Armenian community the friendly relationship between the two countries and between Yerevan and Marseille would become more active and reach a new level of development.
