In the case when 1,285 applicants in Armenia have won as a result of online US Green Card lottery in 2008, this number has climbed to 2,049 this year, Hraparak daily reported.

“But the number of the winners must at least be tripled with the number of family members. Thus, 2,049 families, that is, at least 6,147 former citizens of Armenia, have emigrated from Armenia to the US in 2014, with the legal Green Card lottery. 

“To note, for comparison, this number is 454 in the case of Azerbaijan, 804 in Georgia, and 4,103 families in Russia, in 2014,” Hraparak wrote.
